Bee Transcripts Reality Check: Accuracy, Speaker Names and Summaries

No independent tester has published results for the new Bee Frontier yet. The best evidence available is TechCrunch's hands-on of the earlier Bee wearable (May 2026), which uses the same app and approach. Here is what it found, and what it means for you.

What worked

  • Summaries were good. The tester said Bee did "a relatively good job" summarising conversations. A business call was broken into clear segments, so there was no need to replay it.
  • Context was surprisingly sharp. During a movie night, Bee recognised the film being discussed and titled the session accordingly.
  • Calendar sync let Bee turn conversations into reminders and alerts.

What did not

  • Raw transcripts were "a bit of a mess". Some parts of conversations were missing.
  • Speaker names. Bee often did not know who was talking, so the tester had to enter speakers' names manually.
  • Not very different from apps. The tester felt the transcripts and summaries were not markedly better than software like Otter or Granola.

What changed with Frontier

Frontier has dual microphones with improved noise filtering, and Bee Pro adds templates (lectures, care plans, brainstorms) that structure the output. Neither has been tested independently, so treat improvements as promised, not proven.

Why this matters more on Bee

Bee deletes the audio after processing. If a transcript misses a sentence or mislabels a speaker, there is no recording to go back to. With Plaud or Pocket you can replay; with Bee you cannot.

How to get better results

  1. Clip it near your chest for meetings, rather than wearing it on the wrist under a table.
  2. Name speakers soon after the conversation, while you remember who said what.
  3. Double-press to bookmark key moments — decisions, numbers, deadlines (controls guide).
  4. Check numbers and names in the summary straight away.
  5. Use a template (Pro) for lectures and medical visits.
  6. Avoid crosstalk-heavy rooms for anything important.
