Best Device to Record and Summarise In-Person Meetings (2026)
Video meetings are easy — Otter, Teams and Meet all have AI note-takers. In-person meetings are where dedicated hardware earns its keep. Here is what works best around a real table.
What matters in a meeting room
- Pickup range — can it hear the far end of the table?
- Speaker separation — does it know who said what?
- Recording kept? — can you replay a disputed point?
- Battery for back-to-back meetings.
- Consent — everyone should know it is running.

Our picks
- Best overall for meeting rooms: Plaud Note Pro. Four mics, ~5 m range, keeps the recording, auto-switches between calls and in-person, and it is sold in India. Note vs Note Pro
- Most portable: Anker Soundcore Work. Coin-sized, clips to a lapel; good for one-to-ones and interviews. Anker vs Bee
- Best value if you can wait: Bee Eclipse. Cheap, long battery, but no audio playback — less suitable when exact wording matters. Release tracker
- Budget phone-mounted option: Pocket. Plaud vs Pocket
Tips for better meeting notes
- Put the device in the middle of the table, not in front of you.
- Ask people to introduce themselves at the start — it helps speaker labelling.
- Announce the recorder and offer to share the summary.
- Review the summary the same day while you still remember the meeting.
