AI Pendants and Necklaces That Record Conversations: Omi, NeoSapien, Friend and More
Search "AI necklace that records conversations" and you find two very different kinds of product: note-takers that summarise your day, and companions that chat with you. Here is the landscape in late 2026.
Note-taker pendants
Omi — open-source pendant, $129 (list $179), worn on a cord, clip or wristband. Free plan, no subscription required, 25+ languages, 10–14 hours of battery, can run locally. Good for developers and privacy tinkerers.
NeoSapien Neo 1 — "India's first AI wearable", ₹11,999–15,999, ~20 g, 100+ languages claimed, 2–3 day battery, no subscription. The only pendant here sold officially in India. Neo 1 vs Bee · Plaud vs NeoSapien
Limitless Pendant — discontinued. Meta bought Limitless in December 2025 and stopped selling the pendant. Searches for it are now mostly people looking for an alternative.
Companion pendants
Friend — a pendant with a microphone that sends text messages to your phone as an AI "friend". It is a companion, not a note-taker. Founded by Avi Schiffmann; known for a $1M+ New York subway ad campaign that was heavily vandalised. Reviews have been mixed to negative.
Pendant vs bracelet vs card
| Shape | Examples | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Pendant | Omi, NeoSapien | Mics near your mouth, visible to others |
| Bracelet / clip | Bee Frontier | All-day wear, IP67 |
| Card on phone | Bee Eclipse, Plaud Note Pro, Pocket | Calls and table meetings |
| Ring | Sandbar Stream | Notes to yourself |
Pendants sit close to your mouth, which usually helps transcription — and they are visible, which helps with consent.
For Indian buyers
NeoSapien is the only pendant with official Indian pricing and support. Omi says it ships worldwide; confirm delivery, customs and warranty before ordering.
